PHYSICAL AFFECTION: There's a significant chance she will pull away and yell at you for it unless you're close to her. Even then it's dicey.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Sure thing! She WILL fight you back.
ROMANCE/FLIRTING: You're welcome to try. She's only interested in women and is nursing the loss of a dead lover but she does love a well-timed compliment.
SEXUAL CONTENT: Absolutely!! Bring it on. She's prickly as hell but she'll talk about it And do the do if you're lucky enough! This does not count for minors Please do NOT have your minor character contact her about sexual content. If they have established CR and you have contacted me first about the thread she might explain something to a kid without getting into details. Otherwise, DO NOT.
PSYCHIC ABILITIES: Sure! Let me know ahead of time as she has countless lives and memories all up in there.
MAGIC/POWERS: Go wild! She will lash out if it's not invited.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Nothing of note except the immortal god thing.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS: She was emotionally and physically abused by her husband and will not tolerate abusers at all. She's straight-up murdered at least two of them in canon. Bringing up Hades will make her rant a whole lot. Also trying to keep her captive in any capacity. Her past is basically a whole mess of landmines that she gets very vocally angry about very quickly. Her past DOES involve emotional and physical abuse, forced marriage, gaslighting and at one point dealing with the nazis murdering her mother - please comment to this post if you'd rather me avoid any of these subjects coming up in conversation.

BACKTAGGING: I will backtag until the heat death of the universe.
FOURTH WALLING: The Persephone myth and all related Greek mythology is absolutely fine! The Idols came out to the public in her world so she wouldn't be surprised if someone recognised her as Persephone - just don't do the "you're from a video game" to her.
THREADHOPPING: Absolutely!
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: Just give me a heads-up if your character is gonna start talking about clowns so I can mentally prepare- so long as there aren't any images, I will be able to play it just fine.
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR AND THAT I CAN'T PLAY: Images of clowns. ANY talk of cancer.

GRACE
Grace was largely CHARMING. Her second trait was CLEVER. She did not romance anyone. She chose Freddie over Pan. She gave up her eidolon to save Freddie, who became the Last Muse.
CHALLENGING A QUEEN/OLD WOUNDS
Grace used compassion in her battle with Persephone and let her win. When Apollo and Persephone came to blows, Grace sided with Persephone, who remained her main source of information for the rest of the story.
THE RITUAL
Aphrodite was convinced to live. She and Eros formed a cult "Spiritual Retreat" in the mountains. Venus opened a gallery, to which Aphrodite became her patron.
THE THRONE
Grace listened to Orpheus' argument but ultimately sided with Persephone- allowing Persephone to regain the throne of the underworld once more. She spent her time in the three months after the trial preparing the Underworld for a new influx of souls, given mortals believed in the Gods (and by extension, the Underworld) once more.
THE TRIAL
Persephone, Aphrodite and Pan were the first three to stand with Grace before the Furies. Athena was forgiven. Athena ultimately retreated to the North, living alone in the wilderness to punish herself for her poor judgement.
MISC
Asterion and Hecate became a couple- there is a lot of tea and leather. Freddie also served as a distraction for the second visit to the Reliquary- resulting in her and Hecate becoming friends. Grace did not give up Medusa's actions to Athena- Medusa chose to turn herself in to the mortal government, who in turn agreed to discuss allowing Hephaestus to see his family once more.

Persephone is an intimidating presence and she knows it. She wears a purple power suit, with a long, black coat. She even has gold heels to raise her already pretty damn tall frame even higher. Given she spent a few decades as a mob boss, she learned a thing or two about power dressing and goes all OUT on it. She wears her hair in an uppercut. She has a tattoo of vines and leaves starting somewhere in her left midriff, going up to the left side of her neck and going down her left arm, ending with leaves on her left hand. There's a skull tattooed amongst the leaves, just below her collarbone. Her makeup is consistently black. She IS the Queen of the Dead after all. Outfits

PERSONA
Persephone is a person who chooses to no longer be a victim after many millenia of being defined as one. Though she was originally charmed by Hades advances towards her, she soon saw him for what he was and her disgust at her foolish youth is palpable. But not as much as it is for the man who kidnapped and kept her prisoner. There is absolutely no love lost between her and her dead husband. She makes it clear she has no regret in killing him to free herself, to give herself any sort of life beyond being Hades' property. It was mentioned that Idols choose their successors based on the familiar- given Persephone's last successor was also a woman under the thumb of an abusive man (who she swiftly killed) it would not be a stretch to say her existence is filled with continuing to fight against being a victim. In every life she chooses, she chooses to fight back.
She has no small amount of bitterness towards her family. First for their inability to help her in her captivity, and again when they punished her for solving the problem herself by ripping away the throne she felt was rightfully hers. She feels they will only ever betray her- sees them as cowards she cannot turn her back on lest they plunge a knife into it. It's made her resistant to letting them (or anyone) close to her again, holding the belief that the only person she could ever rely on was herself. Even if her family have attempted to make amends, she has shut them down. She holds onto her grudges for millennia (Hermes even alludes to her "having a book" of grievances against people) and the other Idols have eventually learned to keep their distance- which is just how she likes it. Apollo especially gets the brunt of this- she was thrown into an apoplectic rage anytime he dared to so much as breathe in her general direction. He was the one who failed her when she needed him most, after all, and she planned never to let him forget that.
Watching her mother get killed in the War devastated her. Demeter was one of the few Idols she still loved, one of the few she didn't actively loathe. Seeing her mother get gunned down was what killed what was left of "that long-haired goddess who loved her garden". It was the final nail in the coffin, hardening her heart even more than it already was. She can be manipulative, too. She lies to Grace in order to get her to the Underworld, promising she could find the recently deceased Freddie and also speak to the Fates to find out who sent the Furies to kill Calliope. Ultimately, all Persephone wanted was a means to get to her throne, using Grace, Apollo and their connections to Hermes to do it. She is deeply sorry for the deception, admitting even if she could not change the rules of death, she had hoped that Grace might find Freddie's spirit to say goodbye.
She's also not immune to uncertainty and doubt in herself. Though this Persephone is unromanced- should you choose to romance Grace, Persephone admits she doesn't know if she's falling for Grace for herself or because she has a piece of Calliope within her. That frightens her, the idea that she might be stringing someone along, using them the way she once was herself.
Despite all of this, and despite how hard she exudes an aura of spitting venomous anger, she's not heartless. She loved Calliope with everything she had, and the loss of her former lover weighs heavily upon her, even with the knowledge that one day the next chosen muse will regain her memories and she'll return. Persephone can warm up to Grace- especially if the other shows understanding, patience (and just a tiny bit of spunk) towards her. She shows a great amount of concern when she sends Grace off after clues- continually asking her to be careful. After the events of the game, she even makes strides towards forgiving her family. She might not forget what they did, but she does, at least, now tolerate them existing in the same room with her. She'll even jab light jokes at Apollo. Regaining her throne, and being a fundamental part of the shake-up she felt the Idols desperately needed breathed new life into her. Nothing would heal the deep wounds of her past, but she was, at least, finding better ways to cope with them.

HISTORY
- Came into existence at an unknown point, from an unknown source. The Idols themselves do not remember. Possibly at the dawn of human existence.
- Was the "daughter" of Demeter, the Goddess of the Harvest. When she was still young (by diety standards) Hades set his sights on her. He was charming and suave and the teenaged Persephone was enamoured by his charm and power. He kidnapped her into the Underworld one day which she did not like.
- Demeter was furious, created winter, and nearly destroyed the world. Zeus brokered a deal with Hades and Demeter, stating they would have to share Persephone. Due to Persephone eating some pomegranate seeds, she was trapped in the Underworld for 6 months of the year.
- Early on in this forced marriage, Persephone grew homesick and tried to flee the Underworld. She begged Charon for help and he took pity on her, ferrying her across the River Styx and to the exit of the Underworld. She raced back to Olympus, Hades hot on her heels. When she got to the steps of Olympus, the first Idol she came across was her brother, Apollo. She begged him to help her, to get her home to her mother. Being the God of Prophecy, and seeing Hades baring down on them, he understood that if he took her in, it would mean an all-out war between the Idols. So he did nothing and allowed Persephone to be kidnapped once again by Hades. This is an act Persephone has never forgotten and certainly never forgiven.
- As Persephone grew up, she realised her fascination with Hades was just that. She began to see the man behind the mask and realised how she'd been gaslighted for centuries. She fought with Hades fiercely, requesting and demanding she be allowed to leave. Hades responded to every attempt she made to push back by emotionally and physically abusing her- dragging her around the throne room and trying to snuff out any rebellion.
- During the Dark Ages, she went through "The Gap" with the other Idols- a period between the fall of Rome and the Renaissance which none of them remember. She woke up as a nun in Europe. She knew she'd passed on her Eidolon multiple times, but could not remember those lives.
- After centuries of abuse, Persephone finally snapped. She told Hades how much she hated him and how much she did not want to be in his world anymore. Hades made it clear he thought of her as nothing more than his property, and he would never let her free. Persephone had enough. She slit his throat - the first time an Idol had ever killed another. She claimed the throne of the Underworld as her own.
- The other Idols were unsure what to do with this. Hades was the last of the more powerful Idols left (with Zeus and Poisedon being long gone) and now he was dead by the hands of one of their own. They contemplated executing her for what she did, but ultimately decided instead to strip her of her stolen throne, banishing her from the Underworld forever.
- She formed several cults through the centuries, one being The Eleusinian Mysteries.
- In the 1940s, Demeter was gunned down by the nazis, thanks to Ares selling out the Idols existence to them. This was a gutting experience, and Peresphone only survived herself because Hermes pulled her away.
- She moved with the other Idols to America after Hephaestus' deal to both free Aphrodite and protect the other Idols from the Axis forces.
- In 1952, she befriended the wife of a violent mobster named Chastity. Persephone murdered Chastity's husband, ripping his head off- but not before he'd managed to shoot her mortally with a shotgun. Persephone passed on her Eidolon. She had not the time to prepare Chastity for what she truly was, so Chastity was terrified. She soon got a handle on her new power and took over her dead husband's mob family. There were several attempts to usurp her, and she dispatched many men in the process. Eventually, the veil lifted and Peresphone's memories returned, melding with Chastity's. The Chorus decided the mob activity would attract attention and told her to let it go.
- In the 1980's she made a bet with Dionysus that she could revitalise his dying nightclub. She managed it, took the club as her own, called it the Underworld and kicked Dionysus to the curb. She still owns it in 2023.
- At an undetermined point in all of this, Calliope asked her for an apartment, wanting freedom from New Olympus. Persephone agreed if she became an act in the club. The two became close and eventually lovers. They had a tumultuous relationship, both stubborn and argumentative. Though they loved each other dearly, they eventually parted ways.
- Then we have the events of the game- Calliope got murdered, and Persephone was super mad about it. See her world state HERE for that.

Time of Arrival to Kaisou: October!
In The Underworld! A green, spooky place surrounded by souls. She keeps trying to move towards her throne, but every step toward it that she takes, the further it seems to move from her.
Items:
- The clothes on her back!
- The key to the Underworld which does not work here, sucks to be her.
Retained Abilities: Plant growth- she can "grow a field of corn like no one's business". I'll limit this to roughly the equivalent of the 3-point plant growth power in the Earth element.

Other Characters: Varian and Zulius.
Character Name: Persephone
Canon: Stray Gods
Canon Point: Post game-epilogue.
Age: Thousands upon thousands of years old, she doesn't even know herself.
Birthday: We're gonna go with January 1st because she existed before regular calendars did, oops.
History: Don't talk to me, I'm angy. TW for emotional and physical domestic abuse, violence, murder and World War II. She is from a choice-based game so here is her specific world state too.
Personality:
